Elementary Academics
The inerrant, infallible Word of God is the benchmark that measures all that a child learns. All truth is God’s truth. Academy teachers integrate the principles of Scripture into every subject. Standardized test scores place Liberty students above the national average. Academy students have regularly placed in the highest percentile academically since 2001. The A Beka Book curriculum from Pensacola Christian College is used in all elementary grades.

Kindergarten
Kindergarteners enjoy an exciting traditional learning environment using A Beka curriculum. Teachers concentrate on reading (using a phonetic approach), writing, and arithmetic; students will learn how to read before they graduate from kindergarten.
Elementary
Phonics mastery is the cornerstone of the reading program at this level. Strong foundations are carefully laid in mathematics, grammar, spelling, science, penmanship, history, and geography in the elementary grades. We also offer computer, choir, and physical education classes for grades 2-5. Each year students in grades 1-11 are tested using the Stanford Achievement Test.

Musical Instruction
A great number of our students choose to take private instruction in piano. Private lessons (about $75 a month) are available at the academy during school hours. In addition, there is an exciting band program for students beginning in the 2nd grade. Students in the junior/senior high school also may participate in an advanced band program. The cost is about $45 a month for band students plus his/her instrument. If you would like more information regarding the band program contact Newsom Music Education directly. Students in all grades also have opportunities to sing and play in recitals, school programs, and concerts.
Before and After School Care
We provide quality childcare services for students in pre-school through high school. Hours are from 7:30 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. For more information regarding this program please reference the LCA handbook for specifics.
Headmaster Online
Headmaster online allows parents to track their child's progress on a daily basis. Parents can log in to view homework, behavior memos, billing statements, etc. Each parent is issued a username and password upon their child's acceptance to the academy.

High School Academics
We are committed to excellence in all that we do at LCA. In fact, the ABC's at Liberty stand for Academically excellent, Bible-based, Character-focused education. Our teachers are highly dedicated and well qualified Christians who love the Lord, children, and teaching. We use a mixture of ABeka, BJU Press, Glenco McGraw-Hill, and EPS Vocabulary (Latin based) curriculum to help students master the core subjects and better equip them for undergraduate studies. Liberty students consistently place above the national average on standardized tests each year, many placing in the highest tiers nationally; however, the greatest asset for your child at Liberty is not just academics, but also the strong Christ-centered atmosphere. Our sincere desire is to assist parents in helping their children reach their God-given potential--spiritually, academically, and socially.
Junior High (Grades 6-8)
At a time of physical and emotional transition, young men and women must realize their personal accountability to Christ. The junior high program offers leadership, guidance, and challenging academics to develop the students’ confidence and stability.
Senior High (Grades 9-12)
The senior high offers a college preparatory education in a Christian environment while offering the students a number of electives including choir, drama, journalism, computer, weightlifting, etc. Students are encouraged to continue their sound Christian education at good Christian colleges and universities.
Fine Arts
The academy students are challenged to compete in one of the many fine arts programs offered at LCA. Whether it's academic testing, choir, photography, ensembles, musical solos (vocal or instrumental), dramatic interpretation, etc., all fine arts competitions are held annually and are sanctioned by the North Carolina Christian School Association.
First-Class Facilities
Liberty Christian Academy is located in a 25,000 sq. foot facility which includes a full size gym, cafeteria, computer lab with 24 state of the art computers, library, and comfortable classrooms. Our gymnasium accommodates over 300 for Knight athletic events. The classrooms are spacious – specifically designed for their purpose. Great care is taken daily to ensure that our facilities are always clean and well maintained.

Safety
At LCA, the safety of your child is of utmost importance. The elementary building is secured throughout the day by Access Control, a passcode system only accessible by LCA faculty/staff. SCHOOLCAST is a virtuously instantaneous notification system whereby administrators can notify parents and other members of our school community of emergency situations via cell phone, land line, email, pagers, and PDA's. From emergencies such as weather-related closings to buses returning late from field trips, SCHOOLCAST provides accurate, "real-time" information when it's needed most. |
