2014-2015 LCA School Theme

What is truth? That question posed by Pilate some 2,000 years ago when Jesus was on trial is no different than the question that students face in classrooms today. In his book, The Aboltion of Man, C.S. Lewis once said, ""We make men without chests and expect from them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst." At LCA, we believe that God has called us to be warriors of truth in our post-modern culture. Truth by its very nature is transcultural, unchanging, and absolute. This year our goal is to challenge each student to walk in truth so that we may be able to say as John said in 3 John 4, "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth."

About Us

Today's generation faces a moral and spiritual battle unlike any generation before them. We, as parents, have been given orders to effectively train warriors of truth to battle the godless philosophies of today. This training must involve a rigorous academic curriculum that challenges students to be all that God intends, while equipping them with the tools to engage their culture with confidence. Our mission is to challenge the worldview of every student with the unchanging truth of God's Word.

Kingdom Education, a "life-long, Bible-based, Christ-centered process of leading a child into a new identity with Christ", is the model we strive to implement at Liberty Christian Academy. This model can only be accomplished by bringing the home, church, and school together to educate and equip the next generation with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for effective Christian service.

We look forward to the opportunity of visiting with you and your family on our campus. If we can assist you with any other information, feel free to contact the school office at 910-424-1205.

Welcome New LCA Teachers

Giving a very special shout out and welcome to a few veteran teachers returning to our LCA staff. Ms. Ojeda, our new 2nd grade teacher has been teaching for the past 10+ years and began her career at LCA over 14 years ago. Last year she taught 2nd grade at a Christian school in Virginia. Welcome home Ms. Ojeda! Mrs. Tluczek taught elementary classes in Florida, Maryland, and NC for the past 10+ years as well. She helped us out in our PE program last year because all of our elementary education positions were filled. Both ladies are ACSI certified and both have bachelors degrees in elementary education. We also want to welcome back Mrs. Naomi Hooks. Mrs. Hooks taught at LCA from 2007-2011 before taking a full time position teaching at FTCC. She has a bachelors degree in education and will soon finish her second masters degree in education. Way to go and welcome back, Mrs. Hooks!

We are also excited to have back brother Gerald Oldham. Brother Oldham had to take a year off to work on some family business issues but we are ecstatic to have him back for the fall of 2014 to work as the LCA athletic director for the upcoming school year. We also would like to welcome Mrs. Jill Young as she will be teaching our JH/High School PE classes and assisting in our lady knights volleyball program. Mrs. Young has a bachelors degree in Phys. Ed and played volleyball for the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Welcome Mrs. Young!

We are saddened that Mrs. Corpuz will not be returning for the upcoming school year as she seeks to advance her education and hopes to return to us as soon as the time is right. Mrs. Rodrigue also needed to make some adjustments due to the needs of her immediate family. These ladies will always be a part of the LCA family and we pray that they will soon return to our LCA classrooms when the time is right for their families. We will miss them terribly! We love you ladies and we pray for God's richest blessings to shower you during this time of separation. Although Mr. Bowstring will not be directly involved in the classroom or the athletic department for the upcoming school year, he will still be coaching ladies basketball and hopes to return to the classroom in 2015. Thank you, LCA parents! We are looking forward to an exciting year filled with great expectations!

We are so excited about our 9th-12th grade students returning to Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters for our Back to School Leadership Retreat this fall. Every year we try to raise money to help lower the cost of the retreat for our students. This year our goal is to raise $5,000 to help send our kids back to Snowbird. If you would like to donate to our cause, we will put your name and business on the home page of the LCA website. We will also link your website to our website. Thank you for sponsoring this life-changing event.
